NIAGARA x VANS
Niagara is the Detroit chanteuse/painter/provocateur whose fierce depictions of noir-ish Femmes have taken her from cult status to artistic force worldwide. In the late 1970s, Niagara founded the punk band Destroy All Monsters, which would also include soon-to-be art luminaries, Mike Kelley and Jim Shaw and later Rock God, Ron Asheton (The Stooges). In the 80s, Niagara began to slowly but surely, crate a post-pulp rogues gallery of dangerous dames an Dianysian iconography.
In 2007, Niagara invaded and conquered the Pacific rim, with major exhibits in San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne and Tokyo. Currently she has designed her own line of urban streetwear with the edgy Japanese designer, Hysteric Glamour. Niagara resides in suburban Detroit with her bodyguard, Colonel Galaxy, and her silver metalflake 1966 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, and a 1969 Dodge Dart 340.
